CHORUS: a busy October for connected mobility in Europe

Clem’ is a partner in CHORUS, a Horizon Europe project on connected, cooperative and automated mobility. In October 2026, the consortium spoke out three times: a partner interview series, the EUCAD Symposium in Geneva and the ITS World Congress in South Korea.

CHORUS at a glance

CHORUS (Coordination of Heterogeneous Actors in Mixed Traffic within CCAM) is building a common framework so that mobility players can work together. These players include public transport, automated and conventional vehicles, urban logistics and shared services. The project relies on AI-driven traffic management, secure real-time data exchange and personalised travel information.

  • Funding: Horizon Europe programme (Grant Agreement No. 101202981)

  • Budget: €6.79 million

  • Duration: July 2025 to December 2028

  • Coordinator: ICCS (Institute of Communication and Computer Systems, Athens)

  • Demonstration sites: Paris-Saclay, Oxfordshire, Trikala, Bern, Geneva, Zurich and Helsinki

Clem’ is one of the consortium’s mobility service providers, alongside operators such as tpg (Geneva), Planzer and Coco.

14 October: Swiss partners take the floor

The CHORUS interview series featured two complementary organisations. Oliver Nahon is Director of Operations at the Swiss Association for Autonomous Mobility (SAAM). Aryldo G. Russo Jr is with GESTE Engineering, which supports SAAM in the project.

SAAM brings stakeholders together and contributes to policy dialogue. GESTE contributes systems engineering and safety expertise. Both aim to make connected and automated mobility reliable and ready for real-world deployment, with direct benefits for European citizens.

16 October: CHORUS at the EUCAD Symposium 2026

CHORUS was represented at the European Symposium on Connected and Automated Driving (EUCAD), held on 8 and 9 October in Geneva. The event was organised by the CCAMbassador project, coordinated by ERTICO, together with the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation and the CCAM Partnership.

EUCAD brings together European institutions, public authorities, operators, industry and researchers. They share one goal: turning innovation into practical mobility services.

21 October: a CHORUS session at the ITS World Congress

The consortium hosted a session at the ITS World Congress 2026, held from 19 to 23 October in Gangneung, South Korea. The session was titled “Orchestrating Multimodal Traffic in the CCAM Era through AI-Driven and Cooperative ITS”.

It showed how artificial intelligence, real-time data sharing and cooperative intelligent transport systems can make multimodal travel safer, smoother and more efficient.

What Clem’ brings to the project

Shared cars are a natural part of well-orchestrated multimodal mobility. They take over where public transport stops, especially in suburban and rural areas.

Clem’ operates 100% electric carsharing services in more than 300 municipalities. It brings an operator’s experience to the consortium: connected fleet management, smart charging and the integration of shared services into local mobility policies.

For companies, transport operators and local authorities, electric carsharing cuts emissions across three scopes. It reduces direct emissions from combustion fleets (Scope 1). Combined with smart charging and low-carbon energy, it limits the footprint of the electricity consumed (Scope 2). When opened to employees and residents, it lowers travel-related emissions (Scope 3). It also widens access to mobility for people without a car.
